Why does the "LogMeIn Rescue Console" crash while starting a remote session?

It may happen that, when starting a pilot session in Avira Online Essentials, the "LogMeIn Rescue Console" will crash. This problem occurs due to the incompatibility between the Firefox add-on "LogMeIn, Inc. Rescue Technician Console version 3.7.1444” and a Firefox browser version 22 or higher.

After an upgrade of the add-on the start of a remote session will work flawless.

  • Uninstall the existing Firefox add-on "LogMeIn, Inc. Rescue Technician Console 7.3.1444”
  • Restart the Firefox browser
  • Log on again to your Avira Online Essentials account
  • Restart your pilot session
  • You will be prompted to install the current add-on "LogMeIn, Inc. Rescue Technician Console Version 7.3.0.1445”
  • Install the new version of the add-on
  • The start of a remote session will be now possible
