Reinstallation of Avira Antivirus

A reinstallation of the Avira Antivirus product requires as well an additional product activation. Thus, the previously acquired license can still be used.

Follow the next three steps to perform the reinstallation.

  • I. Download the Antivirus installation file

    1. Download the following version of the Avira Antivirus and save it to your computer. Note the saving location

  • II. Reinstall Avira Antivirus

    1. Double-click the downloaded Avira installation file and follow the installation wizard

      If you have a previous Avira Antivirus version already installed on your computer, it will be hereby updated automatically. Continue with point three “Activate Avira Antivirus Pro”.

    2. If you do not have any previous Avira Antivirus version installed on your computer, then the Avira Launcher will be installed first
    3. Continue the installation of your Antivirus with a click on the Avira Icon in your System tray
    4. Once the "Avira Launcher" opens, click on Antivirus → install
    5. A silent installation of your Antivirus will be performed

  • III. Activate Avira Antivirus Pro

    1. Open the "Avira Control Center" by clicking the Avira icon → Free Antivirus in the bottom right taskbar
    2. Click in the menu on Help → License Management and enter your formerly purchased Avira Antivirus activation code

      A misplaced activation code, can be retrieved anytime via the Avira "My Account".

    3. Enter the required personal details and click Next
    4. The product activation has been completed
    5. The activation code has unlocked the required modules for the Antivirus Pro version
