Does it matter if I use a 32 or a 64-bit Windows system?

According to media reports, 32-bit programs encounter problems when run in 64-bit Windows environments: Due to emulation and virtualisation levels used in 64-bit Windows, some files are not seen by the file systems of 32-bit software.

In a 64-bit environment, Avira uses a native 64-bit minifilter driver to access the file system, so it can see all files in the file system. Thus it does not make any difference if the processes receiving data from the driver are 32 or 64-bit processes. Therefore, Avira insures the same high protection on 64-bit Windows versions, too.
