Why does my Avira Antivirus not perform any updates?

info-symbol
On rare occasions, it might be possible that Avira cannot perform automatic or manual updates anymore. This is caused by the RebootPending.txt file which remains permanently in the installation directory of Avira even after a reboot of the computer.

As a result, the computer expects after a reboot a further restart and blocks therefore the automatic and manual updates of the Antivirus program.

A manual deletion of the RebootPending.txt file permits subsequently the common automatic and manual update of the Avira product.
