Avira presents updated security solutions at the LinuxTag show

Virus protection “Made in Germany” in Hall 7.2a, Booth 109

Tettnang, 09 June 2009 – The German IT security specialist Avira is presenting product versions of MailGate and WebGate at the LinuxTag 2009 show at the Berlin Exhibition Center, 24 to 27 June. The solutions include enhanced reporting functions for MailGate: Statistics for blocked emails, additional information about the reasons email was blocked and the number of encrypted emails can now be logged in databases with an ODBC connection. Sample report templates are supplied for OpenOffice and Microsoft Excel to help with the evaluation of data.

The new version of WebGate supports filtering options similar to the Avira AntiVir Version 9 products. These include filtering out phishing pages, spam, harmful emails and hoax pages. Many administrators asked for adjustable trickling, the forwarding of data from downloads to the client system, so that connections are not broken. The “displayed download speed” can now be set for each domain, individual file types or particular data streams.

The new products will be available in the autumn of 2009 and prices are available from Avira on request. For further information or if you want to make a personal appointment, please see our events website.
