AntiVir Workstation Receives "Virus Bulletin 100%" Award Under Windows NT

Tettnang, February 7, 2005 — AntiVir Workstation was honored in February by Virus Bulletin, the world-renowned trade magazine for IT security, with its "Virus Bulletin 100%" award. AntiVir Workstation, from the German IT security expert H+BEDV Datentechnik GmbH, received the distinction for its full detection of all "in-the-wild" viruses under the Windows NT operating system. H+BEDV Datentechnik GmbH had already been awarded the seal of quality last year for the Linux, Windows XP and Windows Server categories. This latest distinction underscores the cross-system expertise of H+BEDV.

Virus Bulletin's latest survey tested 28 products for their virus detection rate. The magazine regularly subjects various antivirus programs to testing based on the current wild list. The aim is the detection of as many viruses as possible from the list both on access and on demand — during background scans and user-prompted scans. The so-called ITW (in-the-wild) viruses are those that currently pose a threat. AntiVir Workstation proved a detection rate of 100% in both test modes. This entitles H+BEDV to feature the Virus Bulletin 100% logo as a seal of quality on its product packaging for the period of one year.

The products of H+BEDV Datentechnik GmbH drew accolades from Virus Bulletin for the fourth time running. The maximum detection rate was also achieved under Red Hat Linux 9, Windows XP and Windows Server. The consistently high quality level of the German enterprise, based in Tettnang, which time and again is confirmed by independent and international institutions, gives proof of the cross-system business security solutions provider.
