The LinuxTag has the motto “Linux everywhere” this year. The picture we associate herewith illustrates the increasing importance for the open source operating system. Linux is gaining ground.

However, open systems are more and more threatened by harmful programs, due to the increasing number of UNIX/Linux based computers and servers for PCs based on Windows. Because of this reason, the UNIX/Linux environment has never been so important. Even if the number of special viruses is not increasingly alarming and the computer of a company network is endangered by the numerous available malware under Windows: UNIX/Linux-Server do not scan infected files, emails or other software without malware protection. A company should install a UNIX/Linux security solution for the server, besides the protection of the clients through Windows specific products.

John Ogness, UNIX developer of H+BEDV and Detlef Langrock, Manager Marketing, will make a presentation with the title “AntiVir Business Solutions – Commercial Success with Open Source” in the UNIX/Linux area. The presentation will take place on Wednesday, 22 June from 12:00 till 12:45 a.m. H+BEDV has been providing cross-system security solutions for open systems for over eighteen years. Furthermore, the company is developing the open source security module “Dazuko” and supports programmers with the implementation and the adaptation of this solution.
