AntiVir spares no efforts for its free of charge virus protection offer

Classic and Premium Users can always rely on our antivirus

Tettnang, 16 February 2006 - AntiVir PersonalProducts GmbH, which starting March will merge with its mother company H+BEDV GmbH and will sign as Avira, takes special care of computer users: the download server capacity for the free version of AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic has been tripled; it now offers Updates and Upgrades with up to 2.000 Megabit/second.

Since the release of the beta Version 7 of the antivirus program, more than a month ago, the producer has doubled its download capacity. Ever since the release of this functional greately-improved Version 7, the free security software is enjoying such grate popularity, that the exploding rise in access for downloads has even made the newly-extended servers to work at full capacity.

The developer from Tettnang is very pleased with this immense interest, deeply regretting the occasional server overload and makes sure, that the tripled bandwidth will successfully fulfill such unexpectedly grate request. AntiVir does not exclude the possibility of a further capacity growth, in order to ensure absolute security for its expanding number of users, keeping them protected against viruses, worms and trojans. Right before this re-widening, the producer has monthly invested a five digit Euro amount in bandwidth, to guarantee the Updates of the free AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic for over ten million users.

Having a network of more than 10 million users - current estimations go up to 20 million - AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic is one of the most demanded software solutions in Germany. The young AntiVir PersonalEdition Version 7 is a completely new development, bringing many additional functions and advantages for the user. Almost 80 percent of the source code has been re-written, which is a high investment in the future of the antivirus software, and it will continue to be offered as a free version to the personal users.

Unlike some of its competitors, AntiVir does not offer old antivir software versions on the market, and it is not afraid of facing difficulties, in always making the newest virus protection technology available to its users, permanent and for free. In case of bandwidth limitation, AntiVir advises all Classic users with increased need for security to switch to the exclusive download server for Premium Version. Apart from the immediate availability, the virus protection guarantees, at the fair price of 20 Euros, further simplified security features. When ordering by Online Shop, the customers also have a good contribution - five Euros from each electronic sale are going to the public Auerbach Foundation.

"We are committed to security and we try to maintain the use of the Internet as safe as possible. This is why we permanently develop our antivirus and always offer the updated software for free to the Classic users. This is the only way they can be sure of the optimum protection. We address the problems concerning the migration to AntiVir Classic Version 7 proactively and we have prepared solutions at hand", declares Gernot Hacker, Security Expert of the mother company H+BEDV.
