While you could put on your ghostbuster outfit and remove the haunting files manually – that takes time. And no matter how good you are at it, there will always be a file that you will miss. What I found is that the best solution for keeping your computer nice and tidy is using a clean up utility.
I know, I know, PC cleaning programs are not your thing. To be honest, I never gave them much credit either. But I can’t ignore the fact that they make cleaning up your computer a breeze and neither should you. It’s like having your own version of the Flash cleaning the house for you instead of wasting precious time with dusting and vacuuming.

The last time I scanned my PC for junk files I managed to clean up about 8 GB of space. While this may not seem like much with today’s high capcacity hard drives, if you install/uninstall programs (mostly games) like I do, a small 120 GB SSD would be filled with junk files in no time.
The best part is that you don’t have to take my word for it. You can install the trial version of System Speedup and see your free space going up. Install it, run it and see how much space you get back. Then run it again 20 days later and see how many junk files you acquired in that small time frame. Do it, you’ll thank me later.
