Nowadays a life probably exists as much online and in the digital space as off the web. Most people safe everything on their smartphones and PCs: Their contacts, calendars, images, and more. And then there’s social media where you share your daily exploits and happenings with the world!
It should not come as a big surprise that people are also concerned with its security and are being afraid of cybercrime. A recent survey shows that the horror of being robbed – having money taken from the account without their knowledge – ranks #1, with 74% of people seeing it as their worst digital space fear. Having their identity stolen ranks second with 70% and therefor is also almost as scary to people as the “bank robbery”.
