Scandals concerning leaked, sold, or passed on data is in the news almost every week and concerns most people. Every time a new one comes up the internet is outraged and full of indignant comments.
But the outrage has its limits: If the data that is being passed on is not highly personal or if it includes some kind of freebie, 40% of German users actually do not really mind it. They don’t care too much for the promise of personalized advertisement or information though. Only 2% did not have a problem in that case.
