I give this advice to everybody about “careful what you click” and always use a usb mouse with a laptop. Touch pads are treacherous and are the easiest target for accidental clicking on the way to the close window button or going to the scroll bar.
Naturally some people don’t listen and BAM! 12 hours of PC cleaning coming up. I had to clean a virus, that Avira missed, called : APPL / iBryte. Gen Avira was taking 12 hours to do a scan and would only find 35,000 hidden files but no virus. I finally gave up looking for the infected exe file and did a restore point. I did another search and Avira found 27 hits of APPL / iBryte. Gen
The system is still a little sluggish so I don’t know if I got everything ??? Avira now takes 2.5 hours to do a scan when it used to only take 1 – 1.5 hours. It still finds nothing but that apparently means very little. It is now getting to the point where Avira is slowing the PC down with several processes.
Generally I have had less problems with Avira than AVG but I had to laugh yesterday when I had a pop up ad from Avira stating that I had been using Avira for 6 moths and was free of malware…. HA ! Please turn off that advert spam junk that is also slowing down our systems. It is getting to the point where you need two computers hooked up, one for your anti virus malware and the other for doing what you got a computer for in the first place.
