This year we tried a new approach for Avira Romania Team-Building by doing local charity work. We wanted to create an event that would give back to the community while still consolidating the team spirit.
In order to do this, during 13th and 15th of June, we embarked to a short journey to Cisnădie, near Sibiu. Here we helped a local NGO, called SOS Satul Copiilor Cisnădie, in charge of 70 foster children.
We put on our working gloves, got our brushes and painted and repaired the fence surrounding a complex of 12 houses. We have put our “hard” skills to the test and we have delivered over 400 hours of voluntary work, using over 70 liters of paint in order to finish 400 meters of fence.
Gabriela Mechea, General Manager at Avira Romania, has summed up our initiative: “By engaging in this activity we have tried to get closer to the children, be part of their world and improve the environment they live in.”
We ended the day with a hard-earned festive dinner, followed by a party.
For the rest of the weekend, we indulged in other more traditional team-building activities. The most adventurous of us tried the Arka Aventura Park near Păltiniș or went hiking to wonder at the breath taking landscape.
Stay tuned for the next episode of the Avira team-buildings!
