Avira Antivirus Pro got the best possible score in the latest AV-TEST for Windows Home Users. Antivirus Pro obtained perfect 18 out of 18 points, receiving top scores in Protection (6/6), Performance (6/6) and Usability (6/6). Avira continues to honor its reputation. The June AV-TEST award is the sixth distinction our product received this year. During the first half of 2017 Avira security solutions already earned 5 other prestigious distinctions, including AV-TEST’s Top Product award for the best antivirus software for Windows Home Users in April 2017.
The independent analysis was performed among 18 home user security products through tests in three key categories – Protection, Performance, and Usability. AV-TEST then tallied up the results by category, providing each antivirus with the opportunity to succeed or fail in each of the three categories. AV-TEST designed their Consumer Full Product Test to resemble the actual equipment and working conditions of an average home computer user. The test looked at detection of new and widespread threats, impact on computer performance, and several types of false positives during typical daily operation.
Avira Antivirus Pro provided complete protection against 0-day malware attacks, as well as widespread and prevalent malware discovered within the previous 4 weeks (viruses, worms, and Trojan horses), while having minimal impact on the computer speed.
“Computer users deserve a well-balanced security product that doesn’t slow them down or complicate their lives – and we are pleased to provide this with Avira Antivirus Pro. The best security is one that offers reliable detection to protect the user against cybercriminals,” — Alexander Vukcevic, Head of Avira Protection Services.
