Tettnang, 25 April 2007 – Today, Avira found a new variant of the Trojan “TR/Small.DBY” which spreads via spam emails.
The trick of the new variant is that it packs itself into a RAR archive which is codified with a password the recipient will receive through an additional attachment. Therefore, Avira recommends all its Mailgate users to block every archive file which is protected by a password. However, the Avira AntiVir users are protected with the VDF update from yesterday even if they already opened the archive file. Avira AntiVir identified the Trojan as "TR/Small.DBY.CK".
The exact repercussions of the "TR/Small.DBY.CK" can be found in the virus description.
