New worm variants that are using a vulnerability appeared

Tettnang, 13 August 2006 -The press reported about some new bot-worm variants that are using the "MS06-040" vulnerability in order to spread.

Avira's heuristic detected those variants, since an update of the virus definition file (VDF) they are detected as
Worm/IRCBot.9374 and Worm/IRCBot.9609.

Avira also recommends that customers apply the security updates from Microsoft.
