New worm makes use of an old vulnerability

Tettnang, 29.08.2006 – The new mass mailer is called "Worm/Womble.A". The attachment is either the worm itself or a WMF file that makes use of a known vulnerability. The aforementioned is already detected as "EXP/MS06-001.WMF". When someone is going to execute the attached file it will install the worm in the system directory and starts its mailing routine. The Worm is detected as "Worm/Womble.A" with the current VDF version.
