Tettnang, 17 January 2008 – Under the “red auspices” of the German IT security expert Avira, the state-of-the-art Version 8, which forms part of the virus protection products Avira AntiVir, will be in the center of attention this year. Its new AntiVir scanning technology for professional and private use as well as the particularly user-friendly management tool for AntiVir Server and AntiVir MailGate Suite will be Avira’s highlights at booth G17, hall 6.
The new Avira AntiVir Scanning Technology stands out with 15 to 20 percent faster detection of viruses and malware. It supplements the B2B solutions Avira AntiVir Professional, Avira AntiVir Server, Avira AntiVir MailGate / MailGate Suite as well as the end-user products Avira Premium Security Suite and Avira AntiVir Home Server. The new engine updates the software faster and reacts at lightening speed when there is an exploit. In order to stop hackers their game, Avira equips the Internet Security Suite with enhanced protection against phishing websites: the solution now automatically blocks suspicious websites. The new management interface of the Avira AntiVir Server and the MailGate Suite enables extremely user-friendly administration and supplies all important administration information through installation paths and files. The new SMTP support thoroughly examines outgoing emails for viruses and malware.
But besides information, Avira has some entertainment to offer at CeBIT: Who will crack the virus jackpot? A one-armed bandit is there, so come and have a gamble.
