Migration Avira AntiVir Unix
What does migration mean?
Migration or upgrading means to switch from the previous version (WebGate/WebGate Suite, version 1.x; MailGate/ MailGate Suite, version 2.x) of Avira AntiVir products MailGate/MailGate Suite and WebGate/WebGate Suite to version 3.0.
Unlike an update-installation a migration means that the previous version must be uninstalled or at least deactivated before the new version 3.0 can be installed. The first position version number (to 3) changes during the migration. We can therefore also call this process an upgrade.
Why do you have to migrate?
Version 3.0 offers a great number of benefits and new features to Avira AntiVir MailGate/MailGate Suite and Avira AntiVir WebGate/WebGate Suite customers. These feature enhancements required a restructuring of the product architecture which makes a migration necessary.
