Avira solutions awarded Opswat compatibility certificate

Avira AntiVir Personal Edition Premium, Avira Premium Security Suite and the B2B solution AntiVir Workstation Professional receive OESIS-OK certification
Tettnang, 9 April 2008 – Virus protection from Avira guarantees reliable protection against viruses and malware and runs smoothly next to numerous other programs and network applications. This has been confirmed once again by the OESIS-OK certification of the US company Opswat. The certification program OESIS-OK checks the compatibility of endpoint security applications with products of leading technology suppliers. Users can therefore tell at a glance whether their software is compatible with system-scanning programs and interfaces in the network. “OESIS” stands for “Opswat Endpoint Security Integration SDK”. With a uniform API, the features of endpoint security applications are monitored, analyzed, controlled and implemented.

Opswat enables technology companies to market NAC (Network Access Control) and RA (Remote Access) products for the detection, analysis, management and removal of more than 400 anti-spyware, anti-virus and personal firewall applications. More than 35 security providers are involved. The certification program OESIS-OK optimises the OESIS framework for the development of products for the detection, analysis, management and correction of many security solutions for Windows, Mac OS x and Linux systems.
