Avira and Ubisoft cooperate together

Purchasers of Assassin’s Creed obtain 15 per cent discount on the Avira Internet Security Suite

Tettnang/Düsseldorf, 29 April 2008 – Good news for all computer game players: The German IT security expert Avira and the publisher Ubisoft have teamed up to guarantee virus-free games on the PC. The partnership starts with a discount promotion: The German version of Assassin´s Creed Director´s Cut Edition includes the Avira Internet Security Suite for only 33.95 euro in the Avira Online Shop. With the special game mode the anti-virus software will allow uninterrupted play and not be annoyed by firewall pop-ups.

“Games that connect to the Internet or online games pose a threat if there is no up-to-date virus protection. The partnership with Ubisoft is an interesting chance for us to highlight the importance of IT security”, explains Tjark Auerbach, CEO of Avira.

The player is the main character Altair of Assassin’s Creed and does not want to be bothered by anyone, worst of all by automatic pop-ups from their virus protection. Avira AntiVir discreetly remains in the background. The game mode can be activated with the right-hand mouse button via the software’s Tray Icon and blocks annoying message windows of the firewall. The Avira Firewall protects against attacks from outside and remains as defined in the system. New applications that want to access to the Net, are accepted temporarily.
