Tettnang, 18 April 2006 - The antivirus software of the German IT security provider Avira is indeed very popular: in February “AntiVir” proved to be the second most frequent search result in Google. Avira conducted an email survey with 400 customers and resellers to establish the users’ opinion of the flagship product. Avira directly incorporated the results of this market research into the new version of the AntiVir business version. In this way, Avira managed to adapt Windows Workstation 7 all the more to the individual requirements of the users.
Up-to-date software is vital for a virus-free network; this makes regular updates indispensable. Especially this key aspect brought up the most questions, as more than half of all users think that updates are annoying and time-consuming. Avira has solved this problem through an innovative procedure, making a complete download a thing of the past. The program (single file update) as well as the virus definitions (incremental VDF update) will only be extended by the most current changes from now on. In this way, extremely small update packages are possible, which enable to save time and costs in the company.
