Following the latest big update on 05.08.2009 or later, some users have informed us, that the Online Protection remained inactive on their systems.
After analyzing the log files of the affected systems, we have identified as possible conflict source the Windows Defender on Windows Vista. To fix AntiVir's Online Protection, follow the steps below:
- Open the Control Panel - Programs.
- Select Avira AntiVir Desktop and click Change.
- In Avira Install wizard, keep the option Change program selected and click Next.
- Make sure all options are selected and click Next until Finish.
- Restart Windows.
Check in AntiVir's Overview to make sure that the status for Online Protection is active.
