You can uninstall MailGate locally or via SMC.

Local uninstall

Note: We generally recommend a backup, before uninstalling.

Please stop all running AntiVir products!

• $ /usr/lib/AntiVir/avguard stop
• $ /usr/lib/AntiVir/avmailgate stop
• $ /usr/lib/AntiVir/avwebgate stop
   
• $ mv -v /usr/lib/AntiVir /usr/lib/AntiVir-Backup
• $ find /etc -name "av*.conf" -exec mv -v {} /usr/lib/AntiVir-Backup \;

The corresponding runlevel scripts will be automatically set during the new installation.

Uninstall via SMC

Right-click on the computer/ group/ Security Environment and select Installation - Avira AntiVir MailGate (UNIX) - Uninstall.
