The new release upgrades AntiVir programs for desktop to version 9. This article describes the changes and new features.

Avira AntiVir Personal - FREE Antivirus, AntiVir Premium, Premium Security Suite and Professional

Avira AntiVir Premium, Premium Security Suite and Professional

• MailGuard: customized POP3 port
• WebGuard: categorized detection (see screenshot)
• WebGuard: active drive-by protection during downloads ("Inline Frames" or "IFrames")

Avira Premium Security Suite

• WebGuard Parental control: this feature blocks Internet sites with improper content for children or teenagers (see screenshot)
• Firewall: priviledged application mode, combined rules for applications and adapters
• Firewall: configurable slide-up for Firewall messages
• Firewall: drag'n'drop for application and adapter rules
