- The installation of AntiVir 9 does not start after reboot:
If the setup does not start within 5 minutes after reboot and notification, please carry out the following installation steps:
- Download the new AntiVir 9 installation kit from our website.
- Open your Desktop folder (Windows 2000/XP) or Computer folder (Windows Vista: Start- Computer).
- Click Local drives (C:)
- Replace C:\ with %tmp% in the address bar and press Enter.
- Open the folder AVSETUP_XXX, right-click hbedv.key and select Copy.
- If the folder does not exist, it means it has been deleted at reboot. There are various tools with such features, like TuneUp Utilities.
- In this case, you have to reactivate your OTC during installation or insert your license file hbedv.key
- If the folder does still exist, right-click on the Desktop and select Paste.
- Start the AntiVir 9 installer you downloaded.
- During installation, select the hbedv.key in the License wizard.
- Since the configuration cannot be kept in this case, please make the necessary settings.

- Experienced users can try the following procedure, if the setup does not start:
- Check in %tmp% the correct folder name AVSETUP_XXX
- Go to Start- Run (Windows 2000/XP) or Start- Start Search (Windows Vista)
- Type the following command:
%temp%\AVSETUP_XXX\basic\setup.exe /NOTEMPCLEANUP /CROSSUPGRADE
Note: Replace AVSETUP_XXX with the correct name.
Caution: If you run the setup without parameters, an error message appears and all files, including the license file, are deleted. In this case, follow procedure number 2, to reactivate your license (OTC or activation code).
