Starting with AV9, there is a Configuration wizard, which assists you after setup, to make basic configuartion settings:
When upgrading to AV9, you can also set the Guard's start mode:
After installation, you can change the start mode only from the Registry. To safe-start the Guard, the following registry key has to be available:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet \ Services\ AntiVirService\ Group
Name: Group
Art: Charstring (REG_SZ)
Value: NetworkProvider
If the key is available, the Guard starts in Safe mode, else the Normal mode is used (default and recommended).
Note: Starting with version 9, AntiVir protects its own registry entries, too. The option for this feature is under Configuration - Expret mode - General - Security.
