After automatic updates, the Updater displays information in a slideup.
Possible messages are:
- Update was finished successfully. X files were installed.
- Update failed. No files were installed. More details in the logfile.
- Update was finished successfully. Your product is already up-to-date. You currently have optimum protection.
- AntiVir builds the following Internet connection for update:...
If you used the option Do not show this message again in one of these slideups, they are no longer displayed.
If you want to reactivate the slideups, you cannot do this from AntiVir's Configuration GUI, for the moment.
The only possibility is through Windows Registry.
Caution: We are not assuming responsibility for changes in Windows Registry. You modify it at your own risk!
To reactivate the message slideups:
- Open Avira AntiVir.
- Go to Extras - Configuration and activate Expert mode.
- Click on General - Security
- Deactivate the option Protect files and registry entries from manipulation under Product protection
- Press Apply and then OK.
Then open Windows Registry Editor and make the changes:
- Go to Start - Run
- Type regedit.exe and press Enter.
- Open the folder
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\
- Double-click on SkipSlideup
- Type 0 for value and press OK.
- Close the registry editor.
In the given example, you replace the value 4 with 0. Out of security reasons, go to AntiVir Configuration again and reactivate the option Protect files and registry entries from manipulation under Product protection, as described above.
