When acquiring an Avira AntiVir Box, you get a CD-ROM with the AntiVir software and an Activation Code, usually named OTC, for activating the product.
These campaigns are "on the shelf" actions of single retailers, selling AntiVir version 8 or older. There is no guarantee, that these will run on the newest operating systems, nor that updates, AntiVir updates and the current license activation will work.
When buying an AntiVir license, you have the right to get the newest program version and updates, over the entire license period.
In case of problems with the installation or configuration of an older version, we recommend that you download the newest AntiVir version from our Download section (for free).
Download the desired product (Avira AntiVir Premium or Avira Premium Security Suite), start the installer and type the Activation Code when prompted, to use AntiVir in full version.
