Technical DetailsWhen activated, Bagle.X displays an error window.
It uses the following 7 mutexes, to ensure that only one version of the worm is active on the system:

It deletes the values of the registry entries which contain the following strings:
"My AV"
"Zone Labs Client Ex"
"9XHtProtect"
"Antivirus"
"Special Firewall Service"
"service"
"Tiny AV"
"ICQNet"

Worm Bagle.X copies itself in %System%\Drvddll.exe.
It opens the file %System%\Drvddll.exeopen. This is eather a .zip file, .vbs file, .cpl file, .hta file or the worm itself. The worm uses one of the four possibilities, depending on the file type:
1. If it is a .zip file, it contains 2 random named files. One of them is an .exe and the other a text file, with the extension .sys, .dat, .idx, .vxd, .vid or .dll.
2. If it is a .vbs file, it will make vss_2.exe file in the current directory, when activated.
3. If it is a .cpl file, it will make cplstub.exe file in %WinDIR%, when activated.
4. If it is an .hta file, it will make qwrk.exe in the current directory.

The worm makes the file %System%\drvddll.exeopenopenopen. If the file Gdiplus.dll exists, it becomes a .jpg or .gif file. Else, it will be a .bmp file.
The worm makes the file %System%\Drvddll.exeopenopenopenopen, which is a text file with 6 random characters.
If the system date exceeds the 25th of January 2005, the worm will delete itself from memory and it will delete the following registry entry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Time
When run, the worm copies itself in System%\drvddll.exe and makes the following registry entry, to be activated by the next system start:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
"Drvddll_exe"="%System%\drvddll.exe"

It opens TCP Port 2535, which permits unauthorized access to the infected system.
It searches for the infected computer?s drives.
The worm tries to copy itself in ?shar? folder. The files will have the following names:
Microsoft Office 2003 Crack, Working!.exe
Microsoft Windows XP, WinXP Crack, working Keygen.exe
Microsoft Office XP working Crack, Keygen.exe
Porno, sex, oral, anal cool, awesome!!.exe
