If you experience some of the symptoms described below, there is a possibility that you are already infected. In that case, proceed immediately to scan your computer using an antivirus product.
Infection symptoms:
- Your computer runs slower (The programs need more time to start or run).
- The size of your files is unreasonably increased.
- The free space on your hard disk is suddenly reduced.
- Your files have unknown names.
- Your computer does strange things, such as playing an unusual sound or displaying an odd message.
- Documents change their content without you having made them.
- You experience increased network traffic (the internet/LAN connection runs slower).
- Applications start by themselves in an unusual way.
