How do I re-download and install the Avira product I purchased on a new computer?

Installation and activation of an Avira product



Please take the following steps:


  1. Download the program file from our website.

    By clicking on the desired Avira product, for instance on Avira Internet Security Suite, you can select the program file for the download. Save the program on your hard drive (e.g. on the Desktop) and start the installation by double-clicking the program file.

    If you already have another Avira version on your computer, the set-up program will ask you if you wish to uninstall it. Please confirm this by selecting Yes. After the successful deinstallation a restart of the computer will be necessary. The installation of your new product will continue automatically as soon as the reboot is done.


  2. Please enter the activation key included in the Email.

    Note
    In case the product activation key has been misplaced, it can be received again via the Avira My Account. For more information, please see our KB article.

    If you already have a license file, you can enter it by clicking the link in the sentence I already have a valid license file.

    Alternatively, you can use Avira as a test version for 30 days.

    Note
    You require an Internet connection to activate the product. If you are using a proxy server you may need to configure the “Proxy settings”.

    In the next window you need to enter your personal data, to create the license. The fields that have a * are mandatory.

    The information about your license is now displayed. Please check your data and confirm with Next.

  3. The installation will then continue and can be completed by clicking on Finished.


  4. Open the Avira software by clicking on the Avira symbol on your desktop. You will see the main window (Control Center) of Avira after completing the installation and the first update.
