Avira Antivirus Security: How to lock and unlock a device via Avira account

Locking a device

To lock your device, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in your Avira account
  2. On the dashboard, click on Anti-Theft and select the device you want to lock
  3. Under Lock device click on the Lock button
    Avira Account - Lock Device: Lock
     
  4. Type in a 4 digit PIN into the Enter PIN field to lock your device
  5. Confirm your PIN in the field below
  6. Leave a message (optional)
    Type in a customized message for the finder of your device, which will be shown on the screen of your device
    Hint: If you specify your email address you make it easy for the finder to contact you
  7. Enter an alternative telephone number (optional)
    The finder can call you at this number
  8. Click on Lock Device in order to save the PIN to your device and lock it

Unlocking a device

To unlock your device, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in your Avira account
  2. On the dashboard, click on Anti-Theft and select the device you want to lock
  3. Under Lock device click on the Lock button
    Avira Account - Lock Device: Lock
     
  4. Scroll down to or unlock and click on this link
  5. Click on the Unlock Device button
    Entering a PIN number is not necessary

Note:
In case the unlocking of the device was attempted from the mobile device itself and the PIN wasn’t assigned correctly, the Unlock button on the mobile will be disabled after 3 failed attempts. If so, the device can only be unlocked via your Avira account.
