Restricted Usability of IDE/Debuggers since 2010-12-08
Since the product update on Dec. the 8th, 2010, there have been problems of Avira AntiVir Desktop-Products in various development environments.
At the moment we analyze those support calls by customers. Affected are e.g. the following development environments:
- C++Builder 6
- Delphi 2004
- Delphi 7
- Visual Studio 2010
Please use the following workaround until we have solved the problem:
- Open the configuration menu of Avira AntiVir by selecting “Extras → Configuration” and click on “Update”. There you uncheck the “Activate”-button in “Automatic Update”.
- Please deactivate temporarily (in Expert mode) the option “Protect files and registry entries from manipulation” in “General → Security”.
- Then please rename the file "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\avipbb.sys" to “avipbb.sys.bak".
- Now restart the computer and reactivate the protection for files and registry entries.
We will inform you in this article as soon as there is a patch available about this product update.
Update:
This workaround is not necessary anymore, since the corresponding patch can be applied from today with the automatic product update.
The following files are downloaded:
build.dat 10.0.0.959
avipbb.sys 10.0.22.22
Please reactivate the product update as mentioned in item 1 and run another update. The conflict with development environments shouldn’t occur anymore thereafter.
