How do I renew the license for my Avira product?

You can renew your Avira product always before the license end. But, in order that everything goes smoothly, we recommend doing this at least 1 week before the license will expire. The remaining days or weeks will be added automatically to your new license. So, you will not lose runtime in case you renew at an early stage.

To guarantee this and also to prevent errors during the renewing process, please proceed as follows:


Note:
You have to use the feature Renew Now in your Avira product. If you go instead to the Avira Website to buy a new license there, this will not be identified as a renewal. Accordingly, an error message will appear during the license activation process.
Therefore, please follow the steps, written below.



  1. Open the Avira Control Center
     
  2. Click Renew Now

    Avira Antivirus Pro - Renew Now

    A new browser window will open
     
  3. Choose, if you want to renew your license for 1, 2 or 3 years
    Now, you will be forwarded to the Avira Onlineshop
     
  4. Please check your product, license runtime and amount of users and click the green button Proceed To Checkout

  5. Please check your personal information
     
  6. Insert your payment information and click Next Step

  7. Review your data, accept the Terms and Conditions and press Buy Now

  8. Open your email account
    There you will find an email with subject "Your Avira product renewal instructions"
     
  9. Now, you do not have to do anything anymore
    The license will be automatically transferred to your product within the next 72 hours. Please note that your device (PC, Laptop...) has to be turned on from time to time within these 72 hours, so that the Avira product is able to align the current license status with the license management.


Note:
If you do not want to wait 72 hours and like to renew your license manually, please follow the instructions in this article.

In case you bought the new license as an initial purchase and not as a renewal, you might get the error message 563. Read this article to learn, which kind of options do you have now.
