If after a product update of the Avira Software you had an installed application categorized as a suspicious application and blocked by the Avira Software, you can fix it by a simple product update.

To do this, please follow these steps:

1. Open the Avira Control Center
2. Click on Update → Start product update...
   
   
    

If you want to create an exception for an application, please follow these steps below:

1. Open the Avira Control Center
2. Click on Extras → Configuration
   
   
    
3. Activate the Expert mode in case it is not active yet
   
   
    
4. Click on General → Advanced Protection → Application filter → Allowed.
   This option is only available in Avira Internet Security version 2012.
   
   
    
5. Click on the button with the three dots
   
   
    
6. In the next window, please search for the blocked application (exe file) and click on Open
   
   
    
7. The window closes automatically and you will see the path incl. the filename in the text area
   
   
    
8. Click on the button Add (H) to add this file to the exception list above
   
   
    
9. Close the configuration window with OK
   
   
    

The application will not be blocked anymore.

In case this approach does not help you, we recommend to deactivate the module ProActiv by means of the configuration.
Please follow these steps:

1. Open the Avira Control Center
2. Click on Extras → Configuration
3. Activate the Expert mode in case it is not active yet
4. Click on General → Advanced Protection
5. Disable Enable ProActiv
6. Close the window using the button OK
7. Restart your computer
