Avira Selected for Facebook’s AV Marketplace

Palo Alto, California and Tettnang, Germany --- October 16, 2012 – Security expert Avira announced today that Facebook has selected Avira to be included in its Facebook AV Marketplace. Avira’s top-rated antivirus security software, Avira Free Antivirus will now be offered to Facebook’s more than 1 billion active users.

In addition, Avira will contribute posts to the Facebook Security blog and provide security threat warnings and blacklist information to Facebook’s URL blacklist system.

Avira Free Antivirus has received an average of 4.5 out of 5 stars based on thirteen independent reviews. The software provides protection from malware including viruses, worms, rootkits and spyware, and includes a toolbar featuring Website Safety Advisor and Browser Tracking Blocker.

The Facebook AV Marketplace was created in April of this year and is accessible from the Facebook Security Facebook page.
