Avira presents a FREE data recovery rescue CD

Boot safely without needing to update the virus definition file

Tettnang, 28 February 2008 – Baywatch lifeguard with the red umbrella: All PC users can equip themselves with a free Rescue System on the website of the German IT security expert Avira. The emergency program enables access to PCs that cannot be started anymore due to a disk crash. The software runs on all modern computer systems and supports current hard drive technology. Write access to all NTFS partitions allows users to perform their own data recovery . The Avira AntiVir Rescue System is permanently updated with the state-of-the-art detection samples and can be downloaded

Avira’s Rescue System includes burning software that can automatically create a bootable CD or DVD. It can boot the computer in an absolutely clean and safe operating system environment if a virus or other malware has caused a system crash. The current virus definition file will detect the current malicious programs and remove them. During the installation and use of the Rescue CD Avira does not require an Internet connection, this keeps the computer safe even if the network card or other online mechanisms are not working.

The offline scan of the Avira AntiVir Rescue CD can also be used to examine an infected computer. This helps to detect malware before it gets active or before it is difficult to remove once the operating system is active. Stealth viruses no longer remain hidden: The Rescue System blocks the disguised harmful programs providing a clean operating system.
