Mon, 11 December 2006
Tettnang, 8 December 2006 – AntiVir, the internationally recognised high quality antivirus protection from Avira has been awarded the prestigious “VB100% Award” for the eighth time. AntiVir mastered the comprehensive comparative test, detected all “ITW viruses” and received this sought-after recognition.
In order to receive this internationally recognised award, Avira’s AntiVir had to detect all the “In the Wild” viruses. The testing included numerous other catagories including macro, polymorph and standard viruses.
Avira detected all the required viruses trouble-free, without any false positives. Both OnAccess as well as OnDemand tests had a detection rate of 100% of the ITW viruses. The zero false positive score means all the real data and files were correctly identified.
The "Virus Bulletin" (VB) is the internationaly renowned magazine for virus protection and IT-security. The performance tests for security software as well as the criteria for the award of the sought-after Virus Bulletin 100% logo constitute the most demanding in its line. The repeated award entitles Avira to have the Virus Bulletin 100% logo on its product packages as a seal of quality.
