One hundred percent at its best: Avira AntiVir Windows Workstation for Vista SP1

Tettnang, 3 April 2008 – Avira has been awarded the VB100-Award – the sought-after quality title of “Virus Bulletin” magazine – twelve times. The anti-virus company from Tettnang has once again proved their continuity which is reflected in their security products that are developed to the highest possible international standard.
Virus Bulletin, an international institution that deals with the critical evaluation of IT security industry worldwide, tested malware protection for Windows Vista Business Edition, Service Pack 1. A total of 37 programs were tested for its detection performance both on-demand and on-access with “In-The-Wild” viruses, worms, bots, polymorphous viruses and legacy set (or not detected) DOS viruses. The testers also checked for false positives while scanning uninfected files and for any weakness while scanning archives (CAB, JAR, RAR, TGZ, ZIP etc.) – Avira AntiVir had no problems with false positives or with archives.
Avira AntiVir Windows Workstation, version 7.06.00.507, gave a first-class performance in all categories and was awarded the VB100 Award. Virus Bulletin made special reference to the above-average flexibility of configuration and the excellent speed of the Avira Engine.
