Go east! Avira launches Russian version.
Thu, 19 July 2007
Tettnang, 19 July 2007 – Avira is now also launching a Russian language version of the Avira AntiVir Workstation, the Avira AntiVir PremiumEdition and Avira Premium Security Suite for small offices and private users.
Russian companies and private users will also benefit in future from easy to administer anti-virus software with an intuitive user interface. Avira thus enables Russia’s computer users to easily cope with the dramatically increasing flood of Internet threats with innovative state-of-the-art technology. The software is available from the website of the Russian Avira Partner Antivirus Center www.avirus.ru. With this entry into the Russian market, Avira is pushing ahead with its international success story of the brand and consistently expanding its commitment against increasing worldwide Internet crime.
There are currently hundreds of thousands of digital attackers in circulation that attempt to infiltrate PC systems via the Internet. Computer viruses are more than just a nuisance, they are also dangerous. For example, many of them are capable of stealing personal information, with which unauthorized persons can obtain access to bank accounts without permission. Avira was quick to recognize this danger and extended its AntiVir software with various security modules. These include an even more powerful virus scanner, the new rootkit protection, the optimized heuristic AHeAD (Advanced Heuristic Analysis and Detection), a personal firewall and anti-spam protection (Premium Security Suite) and a pro-active anti-phishing function.
“Organized crime is more and more often behind attacks from the Internet. Even private households are not safe from these, especially in the case of Internet shopping or online banking”, explains Rainer Witzgall, Executive Vice President at Avira. “To make it as difficult as possible for the attackers, private communication should be protected and all potential gateways closed.”
