Avira presents AntiVir Windows Workstation 7
Hanover/Tettnang, 10 March 2006 - With a different name but offering the same quality, Avira (formerly H+BEDV) makes malware going through hard times. The new version of the business security solution AntiVir will be presented punctually at CeBIT 2006. The software AntiVir Windows Workstation 7 has been enhanced by numerous functions such as the unicode-support and the quarantine management. Moreover, the classic version is waiting with a completely revised user interface in a Windows XP design and can now be easily controlled through a central control center. The automatic Single File Update or the incremental VDF update offers even more protection against digital threats.
AntiVir Windows Workstation 7 supports the IT administrators in their everyday virus hunt: The central control center enables a permanent overview on the current security situation of the system. The dynamic colored icons show if everything is working fine or whether the user has to call for action immediately. With these comprehensive functions of the user friendly Management Console, the user can make updates, prolong his license, activate or deactivate individual program modules. And all this is made per mouse click. The reports and the statistics are available via the control center and if malware has been detected, the user has access to detailed online information like the origin or the mode of action. The suspicious or infected data do not even enter the network. It is moved to the quarantine to be cleaned or deleted.
Moreover, AntiVir 7 is characterized through its universal applications. The program adapts through a standard or expert configuration to the know-how of each user or to the requirements of the company. This flexible configuration makes AntiVir the perfect security option for small and medium-sized companies that are looking for a professional but easy to use security solution for their IT infrastructure. At the same time, the new edition of the classic version manages to meet the requirements of companies that are active worldwide. The international languages menu enables to use the antivirus product all over the world. The Unicode capacity of the product can reproduce the non-Latin languages too.
The updated software also shows a plus in terms of performance. The virus scanner already ranks among the fastest scanners on the market. Moreover, it has been sped up once again with about 30 per cent in order to examine the archives too. A new update procedure enables extremely small update packages for both the single file-update and the incremental VDF update. This method especially saves time and has cost advantages for users who have a slower connection. Besides that, the database of the scanner is only enhanced by the virus definition; a complete download is not required.
The favorable price structure of 59 euros per one-site license is supplemented by a 24/7 support service offer. Moreover, the upgrade of the present versions is free of charge. The software AntiVir Windows Workstation 7 is available after CeBIT 2006 and can be obtained directly at Avira or from one of the resellers.
