H+BEDV Develops World’s First SAP-Certified Virus Scanner

Tettnang, January 28, 2005 - H+BEDV Datentechnik GmbH, a provider of cross-system business security solutions headquartered in Tettnang, Germany, has expanded its portfolio with an important product for SAP enterprise solutions: "AntiVir Virus Scan Adapter,” the world’s first virus scanner certified by SAP. "AntiVir Virus Scan Adapter" seamlessly integrates into the SAP NetWeaver technology platform and monitors the data exchange of SAP applications. The new product in the AntiVir family complies with the stringent SAP certification criteria and is authorized to display the “SAP Certified Integration” certificate.
AntiVir prevents known and unknown viruses and malicious code from penetrating SAP solutions. An enterprise that allows applicants to apply online and upload curriculum vitae in MS-Word or PDF format, for example, can now be certain that no virus-infected objects enter its database in this way. Spreadsheets, image files and any other objects that must be processed by various employees are now scanned for viruses before being stored. Thus it is finally possible to be sure that any stored objects are free from viruses, instead of leaving this important responsibility to antivirus software on the workstation. Automatic Internet updates ensure that SAP users always enjoy up-to-date virus protection.
