Undisturbed gaming fun with AntiVir virus protection
Wed, 08 August 2007
Tettnang, 6 August 2007 – In time for the world’s largest games fair in Leipzig, Avira has extended the Premium Security Suite with the Game Mode. The new function of the anti-virus software prevents gamers from being interrupted by firewall pop-ups while gaming for fun. A visit to the IT security experts in hall 4, stand G 11 is also worthwhile to protect mobile phones and pocket PCs against digital viruses. Avira will equip the mobile phones of all gamers with a free version of Avira AntiVir Mobile from August 23 to 26 for a term of 6 months.
Dozens of Orks have been killed, D-Day has been survived again and again and Germany wins the soccer World Cup – at least in the virtual gaming world. When the action is hotting up while playing, gamers do not want to be disturbed, especially by automatic pop-up messages of their virus protection program. For this reason, Avira’s AntiVir now discreetly runs in the background. The Game Mode can be easily activated with the right-hand mouse button via the tray icon of the software and suppresses disturbing message windows of the firewall. The rule-based protection function of the Avira firewall against attacks from the outside remains as defined in the system. New applications seeking access to the network are temporarily allowed. The extended version of Avira’s AntiVir Security Suite is available from September for EUR 39.9 in the Avira Online Shop.
