“Keep a clean sheet”: DFB Medien c(l)icks safe with Avira
Tue, 15 April 2008
DFB Medien (the German Football Association) relies on the Avira Gold Support and enhances the scope of their long lasting cooperation.
Tettnang, 15 April 2008 – Avira protects company networks against digital intruders just like a successful goalkeeper does: DFB Medien can enjoy the European championship with a clear conscience having the German IT security expert in its team. DFB’s subsidiary has renewed the partnership with Avira, which started in 2004 and has enhanced its protection of the Avira AntiVir Small Business Suite Mixed to the AntiVir GateWay Bundle.
“Avira has given proof of its high reliability and its favorable maintenance costs several times“, explains Ingo Thomann, Director Marketing and Communication at DFB Medien. “We very much appreciate that the Avira solutions keep in the background in a both elegant and modest way“: The update packages with the up-to-date virus definition files require very little memory space and the software can be administered from a central position requiring very little efforts.”
Avira’s all-embracing software package guarantees protection of all PCs as well as file and mail servers, thus eliminating all relevant security vulnerabilities in the network. DFB’s subsidiary protects its in-house network with the Small Business Suite Mixed, which includes the solutions Workstation Server, MailGate, AntiSpam and WebGate. The Avira AntiVir GateWay Bundle protects the portal for the DFB’s associations which is used by approx. 30,000 users every day. The comprehensive GateWay protection directly blocks digital attackers such as viruses, worms, Trojans, adware, spyware and dialers – an important criteria for the DFB: “We are working on a web based communication platform, which among other things provides email inboxes for our 50,000 voluntary employees“, says Thomann. “Our aim is to increase this number up to 200,000 members – referees, players, trainers, everyone should get a DFB inbox.“
Avira has established itself on the market with an easy-to-use, uninterruptedly good development and it has the product seal “Made in Germany“ in contrast to the other anti-virus software producers. “The social dedication of Avira has also convinced us“, explains Thomann. “After all, the DFB largely also depends on the dedication of its voluntary employees.“
DFB Medien GmbH & Co. KG is the software house and the partner for IT solutions of soccer in Germany. In the first place, the DFB and its federation of members are partner and client. With them together, DFB Medien designs and materializes database-protected infrastructures for many areas of the organized soccer sport in Germany.
