Tettnang, 10 February 2009 – Under the sign of the red umbrella, Avira will premiere Version 9 of its Avira AntiVir anti-virus program with new features at CeBIT. In order to banish malware even faster in future, the German IT security expert has equipped its solutions with the Quick Removal Tool. This feature offers a user-friendly way for dealing with malware, which can now be erased with a simple mouse click. The anti-virus program can be adapted quickly to your specific requirements thanks to the new configuration assistant. In addition, Avira AntiVir Professional solution enables you to create several configuration profiles which can automatically be switched online with input from the user.
Users of mini notebooks can get virus protection in the right screen resolution: Avira offers automatically adapted graphics of its anti-virus solutions for these devices.
Private users can enjoy many additional security features: to shield children and teenagers from corrupt content on the World Wide Web Avira has incorporated its child protection module into the Avira Premium Security Suite. This allows parents to block Internet pages with potentially disturbing content, without spoiling their children’s surfing fun.
In addition to its new solutions, Avira makes use of practical examples to illustrate the necessity of IT security concepts. In daily live hacking presentations former hacker Gunnar Porada will demonstrate how easy it is for Internet criminals to break into the bank accounts of private individuals and businesses if important security measures are neglected. Dr. Wolfgang Hackenberg, a lawyer, will be on hand to explain liability issues for IT administrators and CEOs in the event that IT security is compromised.
Of course, Avira also provides entertainment at CeBIT. All visitors to the exhibition can enjoy Avira’s interactive computer game, “Flush out the virus”. Fantastic prizes await the best gamers, including free virus protection from Avira for a whole year.
