PC-WELT readers agree: Avira is the “Brand of the Year 2009”

Tettnang, 07 July 2009 – PC-WELT names Avira “Brand of the Year 2009”. What makes this so special is that this is the third time in succession Avira has come out on top in the Security Software product category of the "Brand Awareness International 2009" study. With 37 percent, PC-WELT readers have named AntiVir the most popular security solution.
The percentage reflects the average values from all feature grades which included: Product Quality, Value for Money, Good Support/Service, Latest Technology, Energy Efficiency, Appealing Brand and Product Reliability. Avira beat all competitiros and was elected “Brand of the Year 2009”.
"According to analysts Cowen and Co. we have a market share of 50 percent. That makes us to the leading brand in the German end user sector for protection against malware. The investigation by PC-Welt confirms that customers perceive us this way. The study has been providing us with water-tight facts and figures in relation to our market positioning for a number of years" explained Tony Anscombe, Business Line Manger at Avira. ”We are extremely proud to receive this award for the third time in a row because it proves that our customers continue to place their trust in us and our high-quality IT security products.”
“Brand Awareness International 2009” is the biggest international, independent brand image study within the ITC and entertainment electronics market and has been presented by PC-WELT for the last sixteen years. In all, 16,400 respondents participated in the survey and evaluated 379 brands in 24 product areas.
