BBG takes Avira’s virus protection into its portfolio

First joint performance at the vendor’s trade fair in Vienna
Vienna, 13 November 2008 – Avira is now listed on the Austrian government procurement list (Bundesbeschaffung GmbH (BBG)). BBG customers now have the extensive security solutions from Avira at their disposal, which include protection for multiple operating systems and IT environments. As well as solutions for Web and email gateways, the security experts from Tettnang also have solutions for Windows, Linux, Symbian, Oracle and SAP. The software retailer SPP will be in charge of purchasing software. Avira will be presenting its solutions at the BBG vendor’s trade fair on Tuesday, 18 November 2008 in the OE sector, booth 129/130.
“We are delighted to provide the BBG with Avira’s solutions, a German producer with over 20 years of experience on the security market”, says Harald Galbavy, CEO of the security specialist SPP. “The security solutions from Avira are continually awarded in independent tests and have long been successful, also in the public sector. We can now recommend the product family to federal departments and other public authorities with a clear conscience.” In addition, Galbavy says: “Another important aspect is that Avira has a subsidiary in Vienna and can react flexibly as a medium-sized manufacturer to the demands of the regional supply structure required by small and medium-sized businesses in Austria.”
