For all those who prefer their virus protection in Spanish
Thu, 28 June 2007
Tettnang, 28 June 2007 – Avira is now also launching the Avira Workstation and the PremiumEdition for small offices and private users in Spanish.
Spanish companies and private users are benefiting now from easy to administer anti-virus software and an intuitive user interface, as the Avira AntiVir Workstation and Avira AntiVir PremiumEdition is now also available in Spanish! Avira thus enables computer users on the Iberian Peninsula and the Spanish speaking countries worldwide to easily deal with the constantly increasing flood of threats from the Internet – in their mother tongue! The software is available from the website of the Spanish Avira partner CDM Consultatores www.antivir.es. With this entry into the Spanish market, Avira is continuing its international success with the brand and is consistently strengthening its committed stand against increasing worldwide Internet crime.
There are currently hundreds of thousands of digital attackers in circulation that attempt to infiltrate PC systems via the Internet. Computer viruses are more than just a nuisance, they are also dangerous. For example, many of them are capable of stealing personal information, with which unauthorized persons can obtain access to bank accounts without permission. Avira was quick to recognize this danger and extended its AntiVir software with various security modules. These include the powerful virus scanner, the new rootkit protection, the anti-phishing function, the optimized heuristic AHeAD (Advanced Heuristic Analysis and Detection) and a MailGuard function for monitoring mail traffic.
“Organized crime is more and more often behind attacks from the Internet. Even private households are not safe from these – even if they do online-shopping or online banking”, explains Rainer Witzgall, Executive Vice President at Avira. “To make it as difficult as possible for the attackers, private communication should be protected and all potential gateways closed. An upstream firewall greatly reduces the potential target area.”
Incidentally: private users who purchase a PersonalEdition product online also contribute to a good cause, as five euro of the purchase price are donated to the Auerbach Foundation!
