Avira AntiVir wins the readers’ choice of the renowned Internet portal Chip Online

Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic is the best free security solution of the year 2006
Tettnang 16 March 2006 – The popular German Internet portal CHIP Online has published the best freeware products of the year 2006 in ten categories. The winners of the wide Chip download readers’ choice are nominated: Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic is the winner in the category of security.
CHIP Online organized a readers’ choice on the occasion of its 10 year anniversary. The subject matter was to find out which of the ten available download programs, essential for all computers, is the best. Under the motto of ”No computer should have the chance to enter the net without an installed security software”, CHIP Online provided the readers with different security solutions, among them also the Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic, which won at a canter in this category.
Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic is a both complex and flexible tool that reliably protects the computers of home users against viruses, malware, undesired programs and other threats. In the beginning of the year, Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic celebrated its ten millionth download at chip.de, which so far was never reached by any software. The virus protection solution clearly gained the top with the current readers’ choice. A total of 58 percent of all readers choose Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition as the best free security solution.
